Can´t wait
Just saw the first official PR pics of "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" and the short CNN-IBN interview with Preity in Cannes. Ohh, I so cannot wait for the release of this movie. Get the Taglines from the posters: A Film About Relationships, A Film About Love, Love That Broke all Relationships...
During the interview one can catch a glimpse of the trailer with Abhi shouting at Rani... hmmm sounds like a lot of teary heartbreak for me. Nice.
Just what I am waiting for. Highgloss, lots of Kleenex, heartbreak, Abhi and Dad, SRK with kind of longish hair. My kind of movie. And I dont care if its a ripoff of Closer or whatever. I dont expect Karan Johar movies to show a solution for world peace or giving bold socio-economic statements. Or defining new artistic hights. I just want beautiful people with heartwrenching problems so I can have a good cry even on the fifth pass and I´m sure he will deliver.
Edit: had to remove the link, since indiaFM has pulled the pics from its site..

I'm with you - I can't wait for the trailer, can't wait for the Soundtrack and I definitly can't wait for the film to come...It's been such a long time I have seen a really bombastic, bigger-than-live Lovesaga with lots of tears and emotional scenes...and every glimpse that we got from KANK looks soo good! Especially SRK. *sigh*
I just hope that my expectations aren't too high - it'll be quite hard für Karan to deliver.
I have such a mixed relationship with Karan Johar. I love KKHH, hate K3G, and have both feelings for KHNH, depending on the scene. He's so emotionally manipulative, and I hate myself for falling for it.
I will never understand how people can have such different feelings for KKHH and K3G, to me they feel so alike...I just have to shut out my brains and I fall for everything Karan presents us...
But perhaps it's better not having this enormous expectations on KANK so you won't be that dissapointed. ;-)
Personally, I hope that KANK ist different from KKHH and K3G, more mature without silly College-Scenes...and seeing the pictures that might be right.
oh yes please no more college scenes!
Beth I know that Karans movies a manipulative..thats the beauty of it :-) sometimes its great to get orchestrated, and with his movies it can be done with your eyes wide open.
So interesting! To me they're so different.
On BBC Film Cafe this week Preity Zinta talks about KANK being a different kind of movie. Definitely worth a listen.
And I agree, turning yourself over to manipulation is fun. I think that Karan's isn't my kind, though. B&B is more my speed, I think....
